A: I traveled across the Atlantic. The only part that was rough was leaving the Bermuda area, when we entered the Atlantic proper. That was one night, and the rest was like sailing in a bathtub. The English Channel can give you a bit of a toss. Rough se... as don't bother me, though. Hilarious, as I get horribly carsick.See More

A: I wish I knew the answer to that as well. I’ve been on cruises that were bumpy for days in a row and they were not all that pleasant. I’m hoping for a calm smooth passage all the way to England myself.

A: They still have 2 nights w/a better dress code during a week long cruise it is no longer a truly Formal Night. The dress code is only a requirement at the Main Dining area the other inside venues for entertainment have dropped it. Also Royal has down... graded the minimum level to business casual instead of even semi-formal.See More

Q: cruise out of NY to Bahamas in December anyone have any packing tips, first time with cold weather
A: 1st off Royal sails out of NJ. 2ndly if flying in or coming by train, plan to get in at least a day earlier, already having severe delays and cancelations due to icing. If driving have several hrs comfort room in case of inclement weather traffic del... ays. Your first and last 36 hrs on board will be as cold outside as the home port, but inside will be heated in some cases overly, wear easily removable layers.See More

A: Pack a warm pair of clothes or two NY can get a little cold. Also, pack extra snacks, soda etc. For the ports because food is expensive.
Answered by Matty123 on November 21, 2023
A: We did the same ship out of NJ last February. Figure 1 1/2 days on each end in cold weather if you go outside. To be honest we would never do it again. Felt like a loss of 3 days on a 7 night cruise. We will stick to Florida embarking in the winter m... onths even if it does cost us airfare.See More

A: You should look now with the Black Friday sales. I just booked lunch at Chops and Giovanni for my June cruises- lunch at chops was $12.99- can’t buy a 8 ounce Filet with appetizers and desert anywhere for that price. I ate at Chops for lunch on the... Anthem and it was delicious. I try to book the last day at sea for lunch as I noticed the menu in the MDR on the last night is usually not appealing to me.See More

A: No. Streaming and internet access are bundled. it was tiered before they switched to Starlink.
Answered by TravelinTess on October 30, 2023

A: You can choose to make reservations or use the walk-up line. Reservations can be made in the Cruise Manager or app prior to boarding up to generally 1pm the day of the meal. Reservations can also be edited or canceled as needed.
Answered by maryred on October 22, 2023
A: Usually the buy one get one booking promo perks can only be used once on board. This means you must wait until you board on embarkation to make the reservation directly at a specialty dining area host desk.

A: Even though the bistro is in the Solarium area, it is not an age restricted venue. However because people think it is, there are fewer young people as a result. TLDR; Kids are allowed in the solarium bistro.
Answered by Ricdalek on October 2, 2023
A: The last time we sailed the Anthem '22, fir breakfast and lunch the only entry to the Bistro was the doors within the Solorium making if more or less adults only. A: Even with MTD you still need to check-in with the host(ess) to confirm your arrival and table number, but the reserved line gets seated faster than the walk-up passengers do.
Answered by maryred on September 24, 2023
A: Also on US departures Royal no longer holds true Formal Nights, they've downgraded the minimum dress code to a better business casual. In other words a neat pair of khakis or dark jeans with a button down shirt is now good enough.
