Some people just WANT to complain...

I find it sad that I read so many reviews from people who obviously just LOOK to complain about something. I know no trip is perfect, but if I'm on vacation, it has to REALLY be a major issue for me to come here or elsewhere and post complaint's about a CRUISE. I have been on almost a dozen cruises, and I always hear at least one person who complains there wasn't anything good to eat (despite a buffet and numerous restaurants that have everything from pizza to lobster and steak), the weather was bad (umm.....so you give the ship a bad score?), the ship was crowded (gee, guess because it was the busy season for cruises maybe?), there were too many kids (well, maybe go when school's in?), ect ect.... THANK GOD I'm married to a woman who, like me, looks for the GOOD things and doesn't sweat the small stuff. Leaving on the Dream in a few days and I'll assure you I'll be back with a WONDERFUL review.

When I read reviews of any product, I want to hear the negatives as well as the positives, especially when I am spending a lot of money. Hearing what people have to say helps me to know what to expect. I wish I'd known before my first cruise with Norwegian that the food was not as great as on other lines. I was extremely pleased with the food on another line which was my first cruise ever, so I thought that was the norm everywhere. I still enjoyed my cruises where everything was not to my expectations, but I want to let others make their own decisions and not be surprised.

I agree that some people just want to complain about every small thing. I also agree that being on a ship is great, almost any ship but there are times when things go wrong, not just one thing but a lot of them. The trick is to not let that ruin your vacation. I have had cruises when I did not want to get off the ship and I have had cruises when I was happy it was over (thank g-d I was not on the cruises where the power and toilets went out, stuck at sea and being pulled in to port by tugs).

My 2 worst cruises were both on the NCL Star. Things went wrong but I did not let it ruin my vacation. I was after all I was on a cruise ship with friends fro fun. I have just learned that it is a bad ship and I will most likely not go on it again. Yes I did give it a bad review to try and help others know what they are in for on that ship.

I think we have a responsibility as a cruising community to point out the bad as well as the good so others can make an educated pick of ship and cruise line to go on. Every line seams to have one ship in it's fleet that has problems and gets bad reviews.

So do some research, find the best cruise and have fun :-)Big Smile

To sum up my cruise critique..."If the ship didn't sink, we had a GREAT time!!!" :D

amen!

Well said! We’ve been on 60 cruises so far and always seem to come across at least one person who’s just looking for something to complain about. It’s a vacation! For me, the worst day on a cruise is infinitely better than the best day at work. Sometimes a good attitude is all it takes to have a great time!Happy
