Bubba 54 likes the Aleutian Ballad. I'm not certain when they started that Bering Sea Crab Fishermen's tour down in Ketchikan, but they certainly have hit a gold mine judging from the hundreds of outstanding reviews. They have taken a real open ocean Alaska crab boat, "Aleutian Ballad" and modified it to accommodate visitors. Last time we were in Ketchikan was 2010 and I don't recall hearing about it then. It undoubtedly is the number one or close to it in the long list of excursions up here.
Some real good ones I like are:
---A J Mine Gastineau Mill Tour in Juneau
---Klondike Railroad round trip to White Pass--Skagway
---Hubbard Glacier--Not a excursion per se but a side day trip on the ship itself.
---St. Elias Wrangell Mountain Day tour from Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge to McCarthy and Kennecott mill site.
---Wonder Lake Day tour at Denali National Park
---Helicopter tours in Southeast which land up on the glaciers, there are a number of these.
---Mount Denali helicopter tour from Talkeetna, if not helicopter ($$$) fixed wings are also good.
---Two day tour of Nome and Kotzebue, gold rush day mining history and historical aspects of Alaska native life.
---Prince William Sound 22 Glacier tour from Whittier.
