First timers, Alaska bound! Hi!

Hi fellow cruisers! So excited for our first cruise this September to Alaska! This has been on our travel wish list but it was a pretty spontaneous decision fueled by having some travel miles.

We we are booked on Holland America Westerdam, September 2nd out of Vancouver to Seward with double Denali. So far we are planning on doing Ketchikan (One of totem sites) and Juneau (Mendenhall Glacier) on our own and booked the White Pass RR luxury car in Skagway. Debating Thermal Suite package and how often we would have time to use. Looks like first day in Denali we get in late afternoon and bus tour the next day, not sure if we need to book something else there. We have late flight out of Anchorage, so need to plan that day.

Anyone done this cruise or similar...would love tips.

Booking pre cruise stay at Pan Pacific. Liked that the luggage to ship transfer was included. Will have a little time to explore Vancouver...ideas? Totally confused on embarkation and what to expect. Since our luggage is taken care of, any other lines to go thru besides getting on ship? If ship cruises at 4:30, when will they start boarding?

As you can see, we have lots of questions. I'm an over planner so feeling like I'm a bit lost.

Thanks for for helping us newbies😃

Welcome aboard. You will love cruising. Although we have not been on that ship or itinerary we have purchased a thermal suite pass and loved it. It is a great place to chill on sea days and on port days it is great to go and unwind in the evening after getting back from port and also in the morning before going out.
