DON'T tell me this!

Maybe I go back to sleep. I didn’t want to hear this when I woke this morn. We are supposed to begin winging our way to Venice on Nov. 17th in order to board the Pacific Princess on Nov. 22 for a three weeker. Understand the cruise beginning in Rome on Oct. 28th has just been cancelled. http://www.cruiselawnews.com/2016/10...-port-of-nice/

well progress is good! Here is to a speedy process and no delays

The Pacific Princess got into port at Genoa this morning. Here are two posts by Pinguy and Chengkp75 on another pertinent thread.

“The repair facility being used by the Pacific Princess is called San Giorgio Del Porto. That facility tweeted out some pictures of the PP arriving into Genoa this morning. You can see the PP alongside the mooring pier - not in drydock. Of course, that could change.
You can view the tweet and pictures here: https://twitter.com/SGdP_Shipyard

“The RO/RO was exiting the drydock today, and now I see that this is the yard that is recycling the Costa Concordia, so the other drydock is most likely filled with the Concordia hull, which would not be transmitting an AIS signal. Since the Moby Aki just left the dock.” this morning, they will have to pump it out, reset the blocks and refill, so PP most likely won't go into the dock until tomorrow morning. Some of the internal repairs, both cutting out any damaged structure, or renewing/repairing equipment that flooded, can be underway today, and probably was started in Nice, to minimize the amount of time on the blocks.”

That sounds like good news that you should be as schedule.

By the sound of it, if they are fairly confident that the 10/28 cruise will probably not be cancelled, then the 11/22 cruise should be a go!

I subscribe to a newsletter called Cruise News Daily that had the info in it. They haven’t reported an update yet but I’ll be sure to let you know if they do.

Here it is. Sent only to those booked on the 28th sailing. Not available as a Princess News notice either.

“Thank you for your attention to this notification.

IMPORTANT NOTICES
PACIFIC PRINCESS - OCTOBER 28, 2016 - VOYAGE UPDATE
As you may be aware, while making the approach to Nice, France on October 14, Pacific Princess made contact with the breakwater wall before the ship was brought safely alongside. While there were no injuries and the safety of our guests and crew were never compromised, the ship did sustain some damage. Unfortunately, this required us to cancel the current voyage that was scheduled to depart on October 16, so that necessary repairs could be made to the ship. Pacific Princess is scheduled to make its way to Genoa on October 19, to complete these repairs. At this time we anticipate that your voyage will operate as scheduled; however, this ultimately depends upon the repair schedule. We will be certain to keep you informed of any changes as updates become available.

Please be sure to have a valid email address and phone number entered in your Cruise Personalizer at www.princess.com so that we may contact you if necessary. Updates may also be posted to www.princess.com/news/notices.
