Galveston is a very convenient port from which to set sail. The cruise was pleasant, with great weather and calm seas. The Ship (Carnival Liberty) is getting a bit old; probably in need of an update. The room had only one plug! Staff was very helpful and friendly, a real plus of the trip.
Cruise tips
Rented jeeps on our own ($60/day) for a pleasant drive around the island. Way cheaper for 4 than a purchased excursion.
Nice beach, right in town.
