Review summary

Worst ship I have ever cruised on. Ocean view cabin flooded on 4th night out. Several outdoor decks closed for entire 22-day voyage. Several venues —including Explorers Lounge—closed for large portion of cruise. Ship was removed from dry dock before repairs were completed. Seemed more like sailing on a construction site than a first-class cruise. Ship staff unhelpful; often refused to talk with passengers. No notification of problems until passengers were on board ship—thus no opportunity to cancel even at last minute. Horrible.

Anger can last a long time? For what it's worth the ship is back in dry dock late Oct- early Nov '17. Perhaps the cruise line will have a better post-renovation plan this time?

Why are you waiting for over two years to review a ship? If it was that bad shouldn't you have said something much earlier?

I have sailed with HAL on 15 cruises on 8 of their ships, including newest Koningsdam last year. My negative comment about the one cruise on the one ship describes that one occasion only (I posted it—and I stand by the post—regarding that one 22-day cruise in April-May 2015 only.

why would this company handel there guest this way? We are booked to sail 11 day cruise Dec 6.If anyone can give me any information about this cruise ship ,l would really appreciate it. l still have time to cancel.

14 April 2015; ship came out of dry dock with major work incomplete. I have sailed with HAL On 15 Cruises, why would readers question my comments regarding this one terrible cruise?

I suspect “fake reviews”from AZcollector. We were on this ship in April and saw no such issues like mentioned here. Since it was 6 months ago I decided to look at the reviews on Cruise Critic which has more current reviews (August) and there is no mention of these kind of problems. The comments were mostly about the ship being dated. There were a few nick picking comments about minor repair issues but nothing as scathing as the ones above. I recommend reading more reviews to form an opinion about this ship.
