Great Cruise Experience

Sail Date: December 05, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was old, but most of the rooms and common areas were very well maintained. The rooms were never refurbished and had some issues, but not anything that was a show-stopper. Overall it was a nice looking ship with many venues to choose from.

Pros: Ports of Call, Food and staff on Holland America.

Cons: Costa Rica was not pretty.

Recommends Zuiderdam? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
Fridge didn't work and a few other things had issues, but overall clean and decent. Not the best nor the worst.
Ship Quality
They take pride in their cleanliness and record of good health.
Food and Dining
Only negative was the variety at the Lido or general Buffet. Selection was limited and only a few stations were opened, causing lines at peak hours.
Service and Staff
Holland America goes above and beyond relative to staff.
