Not the best..

Sail Date: January 01, 2007

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Oceanview

It took about an hour and a half for us to get on the ship, which wasn't too bad. The first night in the dining room, our waiters/waitresses seemed like they didn't want to be there at all. No, "Enjoy your food," or, "Have a nice meal," or anything. Although the Maitre' D was very friendly. Then, one of my relatives complained that the air in her stateroom was broken and it was extremely hot in there. They gave her a fan and a bottle of champagne. Not very professional. There was a storm, so we didn't get to go to Key West, as scheduled. Overall it was ok, but the service needs more work. I really wouldn't recommend this one.

Pros: the ports of call

Cons: the service

Recommends Zuiderdam? No.

Service and Staff
The service of the staff was not very good. It definitely could've been better.
Ship Quality
The cleanliness was good, and the decorations were beautiful.
Food and Dining
I've read reviews that say the food is, "amazing," but this was just average.
Cabin / Stateroom
Besides the mishap in my relatives room, the stateroom's were kept clean and were moderately comfortable.
Entertainment
There really wasn't much to do for the kids except swim, go to the arcade, and go to the kid's club. The shows were average and for the adults, there's your average bar and nightclub. Which was nice, except the rocking boat made it difficult to navigate. Especially towards the top deck, where most of everything is located.
Children's Programs
Definitely could have used more staff. But there were plenty of things to do, otherwise.
