We enjoyed our holidays cruise on the Zadaam, small ship well maintained and a relaxing atmosphere. Will do it again..
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was a breeze we were aboard in less than 10 minutes
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We were surprised to find the ship in very good shape, we were worried that since is an old ship we wouldn’t like it. But we loved the size and the crowd since we are in our early 60’s. Food was ok and entertainment was not very good with the exception of a great comedian and a nice trio. We love the duet playing classical music every day. Buffet was very limited specially the dessert option were very poor and repetitive. Food was eatable but nothing to brag about.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Love the enclosed pool area, the library and the fitness center was well equipped and maintained.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
With the exception of three acts everything else was mediocre. Zandaam doesn’t have the same venues as its older sisters, but we enjoyed the pace and the ambiance of the smaller ship.
Children's Programs
No children with us
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
HAL doesn’t disappoint when it comes to service due to the Indonisian crew, excellent service and attention from the room stewards to the restaurants staff. Always with a smile and willing to help.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
We loved the wrap around walking deck and the lounge chairs to just see the ocean view and relaxing and reading. Small ship every is close by and less crowded. Loved it.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Cabin was renovated and replaced the bathtub with a shower, very well done, spacious with lots of closet space. Well kept and excellent job by our cabin staff. Only disappointment was a terrible engine noice that did not allow us to sleep at night, we couldn’t be moved due to sold out cruise, they compensated us, and noice was eliminated for the end part of the cruise.
Ship tip
Beware of the lower part of the ship due to vibration and engine noise.
