Dear Fellow Cruise Travelers: Beware of your cruise bookings through 3rd party particularly for the Royal Caribbean Cruises. We called today (7/23/2024) to confirm our reservations for family of 6 people (My family and my in-laws). The reservation was for 2 state rooms that were paid for almost 2 months ago with almost $10,000 paid upfront.  We found out that they put my in-laws on deck 10 and my family on deck 6. When we booked we were supposed to be in room next to each other. My in-laws are 75 years old and they are from India. This is their 1st cruise experience and our 2nd. We couldn’t get a confirmation of dietary preferences. We were given 5 pm. Dinner time since that was the only time available. They tried to put my in-laws at 7:45 pm waitlisted for my In-laws and my family with 2 kids at 5 pm.  The customer service is absolutely terrible, we were transferred to couple of supervisors that were based out of country and they kept apologizing and kept telling us they can’t help us we should go to the American Express since the Royal Caribbean Cruise line doesn’t prefer and service travel agent bookings.  To our surprise after 90 minutes of discussion and many transfers we were only given only first names of the people who were on the phone, Fernando, Rafael Gustavo and no last names and no email addresses and no acknowledgement of where are they from and no record of communication we had and no help except we are sorry, we can’t help you we like to help you. Lots of CRAP and no solution. We were even transferred to what they call resolution department and they kept saying that they are not able to help and they are sorry. The booking must be cremated with Royal Caribbean Cruise to get any service about your cruise and related services.  It was a HUGE surprise to us since you can not get anything done since we did not book it with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. We are almost told to bring our own food, eat at different times, live on different decks and no service since it was booked through American Express (third party).  PLEASE BE VERY VERY CAREFUL. FYI I have been cruising a little over ten years. I did my first booking for my family, two rooms adjoining or side by side. I did my research beforehand and going on our ten cruise, bookings all on my own. Customer service can only help with certain issues. You drop the ball on your responsibilities and so did AMEX.

I am guessing you are a newbie. Your first mistake is booking through a third party. You should have booked directly with RC. Most of your problems could have been solved the first day of embarkation. Most of your issues could have been avoided had you done some research beforehand. YouTube videos next time.

You did the reservation wrong. I’m sorry. Next time: 1. Do a mock booking on your own on the cruise website and choose the EXACT two staterooms you want…connecting, adjacent, across from each other etc. I usually write down a few choices before calling. 2. Call the cruise line DIRECTLY or a travel agent suggested to you by friends with GREAT reviews. 3. Give them those stateroom numbers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4. Tell them you want My Time Dining for all of you IF early seating all booked!!!!!!!!!!!! You reserve a My Time Dining spot in your account online immediately after booking before the cruise and if all spots taken, you see someone in the Main Dining Room immediately when you board to get a MTD reservation for your whole group. 5. Have your travel agent or cruise line link reservations together so you can see them both in the app. 6. I really don’t understand how you didn’t understand that you needed to do #1-3…….🤷‍♀️

No way this is real. I’ve sailed on Wonder twice and both times were amazing. I think the in-laws can figure out elevators. And why the bad reviews on every port stop and food etc. It’s an amazing ship!!!!

I have ONLY traveled on RC ships due to the FACT, the whole experience from boarding until last minute on the ship has been amazing each and every time. I booked two RC cruises on my own and also use a TA and never once had an issue. Very unfortunate you had such issues. It saddens me to read such a poor review of RC when, in fact, the issue clearly was with the company you reserved through.

This is either bogus or the poster has no idea what they're doing. Any time you book through a third party you have to work through that third party. Otherwise the cruiseline has very limited things they can discuss with you, let alone change. That's industry practice and is true for all cruiselines. It is unfortunate this happened to you but it is AMEXs mistake in booking it incorrectly and yours for being uninformed on how to correct it.

I would suggest to book through a cruise travel agent. They have more knowledge on how reservations for cruises work. Also, I have sailed on royal multiple times and their customer service is phenomenal. You can't blame the cruise line for the third party, in this case Amex, ignorance and Inability to remedy your situation.

From our experiences, anytime we have booked through a travel agent or 3rd party vendor, we have reached out to them first since they’re the ones that booked our cruise.

So your cruise gets a low star not the people you book through ? They don't make sense to me . It wasn't their fault .
