Review summary

We booked our first cruise with our daughter (3 1/2) on the Wonder of the Seas. We watched a lot of videos on YouTube and were full of joy. We actually booked the completely carefree package. That means all drinks included for me and my wife (about $1000) and WIFI, because of course I had to do some work and at least wanted to answer my email. The parking we also booked was problem-free. The shuttle to the ship works perfectly. The ship itself is magnificent from the outside. The suitcases were in the room pretty quickly. Clean room with balcony on the water side. The food in the windjammer was OK. We also booked a formal dinner (table) every day. The staff at dinner were really friendly (although provided), the food was good. Now the bad. If someone thinks they book the drinks package and everything is included, far from it. Everyone gets a card, and you get a drink just for you. If you also want a drink for your wife, the second card is required. Scanning the card takes quite a long time. The best thing is you can only have one drink every 15 minutes. I wanted to bring my wife a drink while we were at the pool, and I was using the Bathroom. The bartender screamed at me so that everyone within a 20 meter radius heard it. Your wife just got a beer, which makes me want another one. I didn't know and had the bartender give me the name. The bartender opens the beer with bare fingers. So, you have to lick the bartender's fingers when you drink. If you order a drink to your room so you don't want to deal with the guys at the bar, it's not included in the drink package, so you have to pay extra for the drink and for room service. The best thing is they also want tips. As already said, we booked the drinking package. On the third day my daughter wanted a sprite from a vending machine that is familiar from McDonald's or others. We picked up a normal plastic cup from the buffet. The machine didn't do anything. At first, I thought I was too stupid to use this thing. An employee came and explained to me that I needed a special cup that I could only get with a drinking package. Great, I have this. 20 minutes later they brought us two mugs with microchips, and it worked. This cup is linked to your room, so it monitors how much Coke or Sprite you drink. If you don't have a drinking package, no Sprite, Coke, etc. on the machine for your children. The best thing is you have to have the cup with you all the time. Total surveillance. The pool attendants are probably the last thing on this planet. I was in the children's pool with my daughter and sat at the edge with a can of Coke (not a glass). After about 3 minutes the first one came and told me rather rudely that I couldn't sit here. I asked why? It is not allowed to have drinks in the pool. I said I'm just sitting on the edge, there's no glass, and I'm just looking after my daughter, other people are sitting here with glasses and cocktails? Answer, should I repeat myself? Ok, so we walked away from the children's pool and went into the adult pool where there were also a lot of children. My daughter really only splashed around a little with her hands, none of the other guests had a problem with it, on the contrary. Next problem, Lifegard told me it's not allowed. I asked if my daughter could at least laugh or if we should go to our room to do it? A minute later another gorilla came right up to me and asked me if there was a problem. I said, do you know what, no actually not. We ended up paying around $450 for drinks even though we had booked the drinks package. This cruise line should be ashamed of ripping off and treating their guests like this. I also believe that all the videos you can find online on YouTube are paid or made by this Cruise Line. Oh yes, before I forget, my phone doesn't work either (Phone and Wife package already paid). I was at guest service who directed me to the telephone staff. No problem so far, this guy first checked whether I had booked the package, the result was positive. After about 20 minutes later he tried everything possible to set up my phone. Answer it doesn't work (iPhone 13 / one year old). Paid money again for nothing. I will never book with this Cruise Line again. It was a fight every day with some employees. This cruise line tries to take your money out of your pocket again and offers nothing in return. I get angry every day when I think back. I won't forget it in my life. If someone wanted to give me a gift and gave me a cruise with Royal Caribbean, I would break off the friendship. Again, it's embarrassing
