Review summary

By far, best family vacation we've ever taken! We've been on a several trips and this one felt soo great. We're already looking to book another cruise with Royal soon!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was extremely efficient. By the time I drove into the parking garage, unloaded my bags, checked in and then on the ship within 25 minutes!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All of the food I had was great. I ate at all of the free options, and a few of the specialty ones, and all but 1 were great. Johnny Rockets breakfast was the only average one, but everything else was above expected.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed all of the activities we tried, including one that we paid for. Our 8yr old son loved them as well.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw three shows and enjoyed 2 of the themed parties they put on. All were great, with amazing energy. I felt like I was in Las Vegas with the shows.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Adventure Ocean beat our expectations. We saw many children visibly upset leaving AO because they wanted to stay. My only suggestion is to have a running count of availability on the app if possible so we know in advance of walking over if we have a chance to drop off our child.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
This was the best part of the cruise. Everyone, and I mean everyone, had a welcoming smile and genuinely seemed to care about our happiness. Everyone was engaging and approachable. Without the great service, this cruise would not have been as great as it was.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very nice...very well laid out and had plenty of space for the 7000 people on board. There were a couple of issues on a heavy rain day with a couple leaks, but they were tended to immediately by the staff. Everything was well kept and very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was better than expected. It had enough space for the three of us, and was very clean. The bed and shower were amazing! I definitely miss both. My only wish was that the sliding door made less noise when opening and closing it.

Ship tip

If you plan on eating at any of the specialty restaurants, make the reservations for them as soon as possible.

Ports of call

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
We didn't do any add on excursions, but this was my favorite stop from a "things to do" perspective. RC did a fantastic job with their island.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
This was a beautiful island stop. We ended up going to the Mountain Top to try the famous Banana Daquiri...it wasn't my cup of tea but the views there were worth the drive.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Loved St Maarten. We went to Maho Beach to see the planes land and it did not disappoint. My family wants to plan a trip there for a weekend because of our stop.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again, SUPER efficient. We were off the ship in less than 20 minutes and in our car. I couldn't believe it. I was hoping it would take a long time so we could've stay on the ship longer but nope, they get you off very quickly.
