My husband and I booked this cruise to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. This was our second cruise and both with Royal Caribbean. Food was great, entertainment was great, excursions were great, and our cabin attendant was awesome. We look forward to planning another cruise soon!

Service and Staff

Our room steward was the best! He was so nice and genuinely helpful. The ship personnel that we encountered were all super nice. They even have a photo shoot with the captain and some other crew if you’re interested in that.
Ship Quality

The ship is beautiful and very well maintained. The layout can be a little confusing due to the open areas, making it little interesting getting from end to end on some floors; being attentive to the posted maps or using the maps in the mobile app make the layout doable though. A big plus: if you try the zipline, viewing that open Boardwalk area is pretty awesome.
Cabin / Stateroom

The Ocean View Balcony is nice size and comparable to one on Independence of the Seas. It was very clean and comfortable with a nice size balcony. The bathroom may be a little larger than the one on Independence. Only downside was there is no table in front of the sofa, so could be an issue for people that order a lot of room service.
Ship tip
For sailing on Wonder of the Seas, you should definitely use the mobile app and try to familiarize yourself with the deck maps. Also, there are several restaurants you can eat at that are inclusive without a dining plan so be sure to research that in advance.
This area is beautiful and full of history. We did not do a ship excursion. We chose to go with an open air taxi bus up to The Mountaintop. Our driver/guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the history. He stopped at several lookout points on the way up. He shared information about each area and we were able to take photos. At The MountainTop there is a great gift shop that also sells banana daiquiris. Then on the way back down there is a spot on the mountain side he stopped at where local vendors are set up. I bartered with the jewelry vendor and purchased a beautiful necklace and bracelet for a great price.
St. Maarten is a lovely area. We did the excursion to Kim Sha beach for a relaxing afternoon. Our guide for the ride there was great. After the beach we took advantage of the option to be dropped off downtown to check out the shops, restaurants, etc and took a taxi back the ship. Great experience.
We were pleasantly surprised with the disembarking on this cruise. We did self assist. From our room to our car in the parking deck, we were out and on the way home in under 30 minutes.
I believe cabin 7172 is designed for the handicap. That’s probably why you had a larger bathroom, balcony and no table in front of the sofa. Did you notice a ramp in front of the balcony door or notice two peep holes (one high and one at wheelchair level) in the entrance door? If so, you were in a handicap room.
I enjoyed reading your comments.
Happy Sailing!!
