Review summary

I would not sail the Wonder again. Activities are severely overcrowded. The solarium design makes that area uncomfortable with no airflow. It’s new and shiny and pretty, but there are some major misses in the ship design. There are far better options in the RC fleet.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The process was smooth and easy for us but there were long lines to make it through the initial security. Once through, it was easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was average at best. I know prepping thousands of meals is a massive undertaking but the food tasted like it had been cooked well ahead of being served. The food at WindJammer and the Solarium bistro was better than the main dining room. The Mexican buffet is really good too.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
There are some great activities, but good luck actually getting to do any of them. They removed one of the flow riders so lines were 1 hour plus all week. Mini golf, rock wall, you name it…SIGNIFICANT WAITS.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
RC used to do musicals and some Broadway stuff. Their current lineup is more along the lines of America’s Got Talent acts that they’re stretching in to 50 minute shows.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
The teen activities were minimal.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was outstanding. The issues I had with the ship are completely related to the ship design and programming. The ship staff were great.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Took away a flow rider. Shrunk the wind jammer. The solarium is stifling because it’s completely enclosed now. There is zero air flow. Can’t imagine warmer months in there. This was probably one of my top disappointments. The solarium is always a quiet place to enjoy the shade and breeze. It was very warm and had no breeze.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was adequate. A bit tight as they are on most cruises but well designed and comfortable.

Ship tip

Great for families with YOUNG kids (

We read the comments, but at the end of the day, we don't judge our experience based on other people's experiences!

We sailed on Wonder on their initial Transatlantic as well as a couple of weeks ago. I disagree with every word you said. The ship is immaculate, and the Solarium has a wonderful breeze. Not sure what in the world you're talking about. It is in poor taste to mislead other readers of this site. Perhaps you would enjoy your time on Walmart, I mean Carnival. Good luck and enjoy.

Thanks for the review. I sailed on Wonder and I agree with the other commenter that newer doesn't always equate to better

Heads up you traveled during winter break and holiday season. Of course I could imagine how long lines would be and how crowded things were. This is the biggest newest ship.

Appreciate your feedback. Agree that newer isn’t always better. Sorry you were disappointed.

There are mixed reviews on the new designs on all cruise lines now. Some love them and others say they feel cramped and crowded due to adding too many venues In limited space.
