Review summary

Overall it was a nice cruise. Learned what not to waste money on and what we could splurge on. Missed a lot of shows but made up for it with what we were able to do.

Embarkation

Easy luggage drop off. We checked in online so boarding was super easy. We were there and on the ship in less than 15 mins.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
This cruise line charges for everything it seems. The drink package is not worth purchasing unless you drink cokes or coffee heavily. At least 10 drinks a day to cover what you pay per day for it. Only thing free was buffet, pizza and main dining. Extra restaurants were outrageously expensive. Breakfast was the worst. No places to sit. Main dining only opened for a short period in the morning. We did appreciate the washing station before the buffet. Kuda made friends with my son at the washing station and he enjoyed going to the buffet just to see him. The food on the buffet most days was rather good for a cruise meal. Main dining room was amazing. Our waiter Kadek and assistant waiter Michael were awesome and accommodating especially when I got sea sick during dinner. Main ice cream station closed super early and left only ice cream you had to buy. Not good for kids who are on vacation or those late night snackers in need of something sweet.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Although the selection was limited for young families it was good. My son enjoyed the kids program and the Halloween festivities. I wished they would have done more for Halloween around the kids but it was fine. And they enjoyed swimming in the pools and hot tubs.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Although they offered shows multiple times between eating and kid drop offs it was hard to make the shows. We did enjoy the ice show and the comedian they had on board. Even my 4 year old thought he was funny.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My 4 year old had an amazing time the few times he went there. He came back with art and stories galore. We participated in the Halloween scavenger hunt and the monster bash for the kids. Wished the drop off time at night was a little earlier so we could have enjoyed more of the shows but we did what we could for a family with a young one.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
This is the first cruise we have been on where the staff really made an impression on us before we left. My son made friends all around the ship. Kadek and Michael in the main dining room 3 entertained him and made him cute origami animals every night. Kuda at the hand washing station kept him smiling and happy with his “washy washy before yummy yummy”. Mika and Mithi at the photo department were amazing in helping us take photos. They also became friends with my kid and even treated him to “Royal” treatment when they weren’t busy with others doing a “photo shoot”. He felt like a star. Our room steward was very attentive to our needs but was super quiet and reserved. They all did top notch jobs.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It was a little difficult at first learning how to get to our room due to the cut off and extra corridor but we soon got the hang of it. Our room always smelt so good. The ship was fairly clean most of the time.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
For an inside cabin there was lots of room. Staff made the couch into a bed for our little one. Always smelt wonderful when we returned to our room. Very easy to take long naps in when not busy. Small closet so pack lightly.

Ship tip

Make sure you bring your own sodas. Don’t waste money on the internet package unless you just absolutely need it because it doesn’t work that well.

Disembarkation

Easy to find the point where we got off. Simple easy process to get back in. The officer even made jokes with my son while checking our documents to get back into Texas.

Take her advice about the sketchy internet service. Not worth paying for when it didn't even work at all about 25% of the time.

Thank you taking the time to submit your review. I will be sailing on this ship in March. It will be our first time on RC. Glad you and your family enjoyed your cruise and that your precious son also enjoyed himself.
