Review summary

Not for sure if it was just the heat or what? But looked like a lot of miserable people for the most part. Which only made things worse when the ship started to list bad to port side. 70mph winds made things exciting. All the pool water leaked out into the inside of the ship. So no one could get outside for hours. At least we can say we gave it a shot.

Embarkation

Must of stored our luggage in the swimming pool or hot tub. Everything was just soaked. They did do the laundry for us so we had clean clothes. Added a star for that. Can’t dry clean the electronics that are now junk tho.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
After day 4 you’re begging for a home cooked meal. Plenty of food and no reason anyone should be hungry for very long. Plenty of options. No soda dispenser on the ship, so you had to go to bar or restaurant to get a 4 oz of soda on top of your full glass of ice and they acted like it was an inconvenience. Not for sure why there is no soda dispenser on the ship, every Circle K gas station can manage that much.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We walked around the ship a few times and watched the others with the surf simulator and rock climbing. Kids were having fun on the basketball court. After 3 back surgeries, I prefer to just watch kids be kids lol.

Service and Staff

Total hit and miss. Room steward we had was the absolute best. So we rewarded him well for making the our trip better.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was clean for the most part. Even after the 70mph winds and the ship listing to port side throwing most things to the ground. Plates, cups, alcohol bottles. A lot of broken merchandise. So the pools and all outside was closed for quite a bit and even with everyone stuck inside, they were able to clean it up fairly fast.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our room steward was the absolute best. Went above and beyond and just an all around chill guy. Room was comfortable enough.

Ports of call

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Constant selling of something. Every 5 steps someone is selling you something legal or illegal. Ended up just renting a golf cart so we wasn’t sitting ducks for too long.

Galveston, Texas

Disembarking. Went fairly smooth. Decided to carry our own bags to be able to get out of there ASAP. 8am and we were outta there!

Cozumel, Mexico

Cab ($15 each way) directly to Paradise Island. Nice place, decent food and drinks kept coming. Didn’t have to deal with as much upselling to get to where we needed to be.

Disembarkation

Best part by far. Carried our own bags off without any service to wait on for our luggage to show up. Off to Houston to fly home and taking the rest of the month off from stairs and elevators of any kind.
