Review summary

Its obviously an older ship but has been cared for and cleaned non-stop. We prefer Holland America over the other lines we have traveled due to their attention to details and their wonderful Indonesian and Philipino crew members.

The food in the dining room was always wonderful apart from a Macaroni and Cheese thing they served us one night but other than that perfect.

All in all the entertainment was good but sometimes not to my personal taste which is the way of things in the world.

I wish there was another smiley face to choose from - the crew are just fantastic. They are also very patient with less than civil passengers. I don't know how they do it!!!

Our state room was a Handicapped one and nice and large

Pros: The staff are always just wonderful

Cons: Our cabin - 6104 was at the front of the ship and in itself a wonderful cabin however there was a door to the outside deck that other passengers would slam at all ours despite the large sign on the door

Recommends Volendam? Yes!
