Vision of the Seas

12 Night Southern Caribbean (Baltimore Roundtrip)

Sail date: March 23, 2024

Ship: Vision of the Seas

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

Even though I heard noises in the cabin and air conditioning not the best still had a fantastic time. Fellow cruisers were nice and talkative. I love sailing on this size ship and hope that RC will maybe make a new smaller size ship.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Only issue was the pouring rain but everything went smooth from getting out of the car and on board in about 20 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
MDR food was okay- food temperature lukewarm at best. Service was a bit off in MDR but everyone seemed to be working so hard. Windjammer was okay didn’t have any trouble finding a table. Chops was delicious. Giovanni was good but service was extremely slow even though there weren’t a lot of customers. When we sat down at the table it took about a half hour to get some bread and for our order to be taken. We weren’t in a rush of course but we were hungry

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Always enjoy the centrum and the activities there. Rockport group were great with a lot of rock music. We always enjoy Love and marriage show. Movies were Barbie, Top Gun Maverick, the Marvels, Wonka. Comedians, music shows were fair

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Fair- I’ve seen better on previous cruises

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service from bar staff was great. MDR was okay. Room steward was good. Windjammer staff was great.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Absolutely love the size of the ship and design. Love the centrum area. I would say that every bathroom on the ship was immaculate-constantly cleaning- absolutely the cleanest bathrooms that I’ve ever experienced on a ship. All others common areas were clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Had an interior cabin -4311. First 5 days we kept hearing a disturbing noise all night long- sounded like an awing flapping in the wind is the best way I can describe it. Seas were a little rough then so cabin steward said it’s just from the ship’s movements. It did get better down by the islands but returning the noise did return. (Other cruisers said the same thing about noises in their rooms too). Air conditioning was minimal- had maintenance look at it twice- said it was the compressor but still didn’t make a difference. Another cabin on the 4th floor had a “flood” in their shower so they had to shut off all water for a couple of hours- was in the morning of a port day. Was a bit of a task to find a public working bathroom. Bed mattress firm

Ship tip

We love this size ship but it probably isn’t the best ship for kids or younger adults as activities aren’t like on the newer ships ( for example-Icon, etc).

Least favorite port

Disembarkation

We disembarked in Norfolk, Va., had a 5 hr bus ride back to Baltimore cruise port. So sad for the workers who loss their lives when the bridge collapsed.
