Wonderful time on Vision. Yes it is a smaller ship, but to my husband and I we felt like staff took care of us. Dining we were not being rushed to eat dinner, during speciality dining (Izumi we had an amazing dinner) our waiter really recommended food to us as we never ate their before and we sailed on 11 RCCL Ships. Chef’s Table we were there for 4 hours, the host and chef were excellent. Out of 2700 people that the ships holds, we only had around 1990 on their. Smaller ships really do know how to take care of the people that travel on them. IMO.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We arrived at Port Everglades around 10:30 and waited outside for roughly a half hour. When doors open it was a breeze to get through security. Once through security we waited in the Suite lounge and boarded within 30 mins of the Royal Caribbean staff members checking us in.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
This is a smaller ship - although we do not get the drink package (my husband and I are Diamond Members and get 4 free drinks a day). We do get the soda package. On this ship you do need to go to the bars to get a soda as Vision does not have the soda machines. So you are limited to what sodas you can get.
Main dining room, service was quick the first few nights then became slow throughout the week. Specialty restaurants were very good, Chef’s Table was excellent. Did not eat at the buffet
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
This was a 9 day cruise for hubby and I, we enjoyed plenty of pool time. We had the Aft balcony - lots of relaxation time with beautiful wake views. Plenty of activities in the Centrum and pool side for adults and kids - (Badminton, Corn hole). Dancing in the evening
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The Headliner Shows were excellent, comedian was good could have been a little funnier. Think he redeemed himself with the 18+ show. Production shows were good nothing spectacular like we’ve seen on the Oasis Class ships.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Room steward was wonderful. Loved going to the R Bar in the evening for a drink, Baptist waited on us every night and would recommend a drink to us each night.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
For being an older ship, Vision is a beautiful ship for her age. Well cleaned and maintained by the staff. When hubby and I would be walking to dinner or even just around the ship during the day or night, staff would be cleaning the handrails.
Cabin / Stateroom

Hubby and I had the last cabin on deck 8 Port Side. Absolutely loved this room. The balcony wrapped around so you could see the ports and you could also see the wake view. Room was spacious enough for the 2 of us. Compared to other Junior Suites we’ve had this was smaller felt more like a balcony room. But again was a small ship. But we did this room for the view. So no complaints.
Ship tip
There may not be much to do on this ship but enjoy the time while you’re on Vision. You’re on vacation. Relax by the pool, Schooner Bar, Centrum, in one of the lounges just watching the water as you cruise. Making new friends. This is what cruising is all about.
No excursions.
Ship stayed overnight in port, for me was kinda neat as I never stayed over in port before where you can get off any time of night. We got off the next day and just explored port shopping.
For the time of year we left, went November 16, this port was not busy at all. We left on a Wednesday. Usually we leave from here on a Saturday or Sunday and could be a little busy but we were the only ship here.
Port Everglades is much easier to navigate than Miami.
Panama Canal. Enough said…lol
Absolutely amazing. Although our original excursion was canceled we did adventure out on our own and went to both the old lock and new locks. Our tour guide was amazing and taught us everything about the locks. This is a once in a life time must see.
Disembarkation was quick and easy. Easy to find our luggage. Once we got our luggage, line was moving quickly and we were out of the terminal within 15 mins.
