Review summary
The ship is well maintained and very clean. The dining room service was very good. However, we found the food in the main dining room to be bland and unappetizing, especially a salmon dish. The escardo or snails had a off, fishy taste. This was not in line with our many prior cruises with RC. The food was much better in the Windjammer Cafe.
The bar service at the pool bar and the casino was very poor. Instead of attempting to serve in some order, service was provided to whoever presented in front of the server, leaving those of us on the fringe of the knot at the front of the bar waiting while others were served without a wait. On three occasions, people flat out lied that they were next in line and were served while we could only complain. This treatment is not acceptable. To make matters worse, we did not see servers circulating in the pool area, making a trip to the bar unavoidable and unpleasant.
Finally, our unassisted departure was to begin in the R bar deck 4. The passengers soon overflowed and was directed into a dining room where we interfered with the service, blocking pathways with our luggage. We were not told why or how long we would wait. After about 45 mins., we had to take the stairs to deck 1 to leave the ship. Information and direction was lacking.
