Vision of the Seas

Ship: Vision of the Seas

Cabin type: Inside

Review summary

Overall, we found the ship to be a bit dated--no speciality restaurants, set up at the restaurants seemed old fashioned, rooms needed a bit of paint. However, the service provided was great and the other amenedities were all good and on par with the best ships we have been on. Bottom line--we would take this ship again if the ports were suitable but would not seek it out.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The quality of the food was good, however, we found the selection to be a bit limited compared to other ships we have sailed. They also seemed to have broken equipment that were not fixed during the cruise (cappiccino machine for example) and they ran out of items during the cruise (e.g. Diet Coke)

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Shows were average to slightly below average. We did enjoy the different trivia contests.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We really liked the staff at all locations

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We spend very little time in the room but found it on par with other ships we have sailed. We had an interior which was nice on this cruise since the sun barely sets

Ports of call

Tallinn, Estonia

3 out of 5
We really enjoyed the history and compactness of this port. Felt we had seen it all by the end of the day
Don't Miss: A walk through old town

Helsinki, Finland

3 out of 5
Small compact city that is easy to get around

St. Petersburg, Russian Federation

5 out of 5
Too much to see in this town for even a two day port call. The difficulty with visa makes going off on your own difficult here, but we enjoyed the guided tour.
Don't Miss: The Hermitage

Stockholm, Sweden

5 out of 5
We enjoyed this stop the most and would have really enjoyed more time here

Pros: Ports of call, friendly cruisers, great mix of nationalities

Cons: dated ship
