Review summary

We recenlty sailed on Vision of the Seas with Royal Carribean to the Southern Carribean. My husband and I have been on other cruises but with a different cruise company and have sworn never to cruise with Royal Carribean again. The food was horrible, usually cold and never replenished especially in the buffet area and after hours. Coffee and icecream machines were continuously broken. There were not hand sanitizer stations before entering the buffet area. Finally their service was horrible and they were terribly disorganized. I was actually plowed over twice by their staff. Finally the ports were ok. We've been to Aruba before so knew what to expect and like St. Marteen quite a bit as well. However on Margarita Island, we were ported 45minutes away from the city, and as for the Dominica not only were we ported out of the city but there was no warning not to go to the city either. Overall we were disappointed with the cruise and will not be sailing with Royal again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Horrible food, usually served cold. In the buffet area food was never replenished and if you happened to go to any meal an hour after it opened you were forced to eat cold left over food.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Entertainment was tacky and not well organized. We like art auctions and found that they would always start late and were poorly organized.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Other than our waiter and assistant waiter the rest of the staff seemed uninterested in helping out.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Ship was small without the conveniences of a smaller ship or extra service you would expect

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin was standard

Ports of call

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

The city of Petersburg was quaint and very nice. Not much siteseeing in the city but shopping was nice.

Margarita (Isla De Margarita), Venezuela

The ship's port was an 45-60min away from the city center. There was a small beach right next to the port but very dirty and you had to pay to use the beach chairs.

Roseau, Dominica

City was horrible, scared to get out of the cab. Took a tour of the island with the cab driver and wasn't very impressed with that so just went back to the ship for the rest of the time in the port.
Don't Miss: Don't bother with this port

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
Great port. City is right next to the port and there are lots of thngs to do in Aruba as well as many gorgeous beaches to go to.

Pros: Going to Aruba and St. Marteen

Cons: Service, food, disorganization, other ports
