Overall, this was a once-in-a lifetime experience for us. Highly recommend Viking riverboat cruises. Can't say enough about their organization, the itinerary, tours, crew and staff, from the time we departed our plane to when we walked to our airport gate departing. Was really neat to meet/interact w the officers. Exhausting but worth it!!!
Embarkation

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
All areas were clean and food was very good. Only complaint was the evening meal was MUCH TOO LENGTHY; usually 2 hours.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Minimal onboard activities on a river cruise. Free time was spent in the Lounge area as the weather prohibited much time on the Sun Deck.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Only had one onboard musician, who played a bit each afternoon and evening.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
For the most part, they were all excellent. Room Steward was exceptional as our stateroom was kept spotless and well made-up. May have been a bit short staffed as dinner meal was far too lengthy.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Clean and well-maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom

Small but laid out well; plenty of room for clothing. Bed and bedding was quite comfortable. Would have preferred to have a sheet as well as the comforter but was okay.
Ship tip
Well organized and ran very well. Captain and crew all excellent and caring.
Loved Amsterdam. Had to get used to the bikers EVERYWHERE and they seemed to have right of way over pedestrians. The included tour was excellent as well as the 8-hour tour the following day.
Beautiful cathedral and city; took included walking tour and so very enjoyed that we had an entire afternoon and evening to continue strolling and enjoying the food and local atmosphere.
We didn't spend any time in Passau as we took the 9-hour excursion to Sulzburg Austria, which was EXCELLENT. Weather was still chilly/rainy, but visiting the gardens and city center was very good. The tour guide that was with us on the 2-hour bus ride to Sulzburg was very good as was the guide in the city. Enjoyed free time as well.
Didn't visit Krems, but went to the winery. Would recommend this excursion to everyone!! The tour guide and wine owner made this adventure so much fun! Excellent!!
What a beautiful city. Took the panaramic scenic tour that was included as well as went to went to the Mozart/Strauss concert the same evening. Second day in Vienna was on our own and we went back to the city center and the market, via Subway, which was very easy to understand and use. Wonderful time. (By this time, we were running a bit low on energy as the itinerary is quite full. However, we still enjoyed all.)
Did the included tour but was a bit disappointed in it. This is really the ONLY tour that we considered just "okay." The tour took us to Heroes Square and a church, both were underwhelming. Other historical venues were there that would have been more interesting to visit: parliament building, Buda side cathedral. The market was interesting to visit.
