Overall we really enjoyed the ship. With two days at sea out of a seven day trip, we took advantage of the spa, relaxing spaces and visiting with new friends made on the cruise. Very easy to do with the smaller Viking ship and less than 1,000 passengers. The ship never felt crowded.
Embarkation

Embarkation with Viking is always a breeze.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food in all of the dining rooms/restaurants is excellent. Even the buffet which I don't normally enjoy is really good. The afternoon tea is definitely not to be missed.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
The spa is amazing and we spent a lot of time there. The weather was too cool for the outdoor pools but they have a beautiful indoor pool and hot tub.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Each evening there is musical entertainment in the main atrium or the showroom. The performers are always excellent. Viking isn't a great choice if you want big shows but if you enjoy meeting new people, playing games, great presentations on local history, they're excellent.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Every single person working on the ship was friendly and helpful. It's part of the total Viking experience.
Ship Quality

In seven days we did not see one area that needed attention. Everything is well maintained and there is a strong focus on cleanliness.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our cabin was the perfect size for two people to be comfortable for a week. Nice seating area, balcony and a good desk space with a mini-bar. The bathroom is larger than most ships, very nice size shower and plenty of space to put away our things.
Barcelona is a lovely city with much to do. We spent two days there before our cruise. There were no Viking excursions offered, sail time was 5:00 pm, just three hours after our embarkation time.
There seemed plenty to see in Cartagena if you wanted to spend time there on your own. The ship docked within easy walking distance of the old town. We took the included tour and that was somewhat disappointing. There was a long bus ride through a remote area to a small beach for a 10 minute photo stop then a ride back to town for a brief visit to the ancient Roman theater. The theater was interesting but there was no time for walking the old town. We considered the long bus ride a waste of time, not terribly interesting.
We took the included tour and were slightly disappointed. There was more bus ride than we liked, we went to two spots with very limited time in each. There wasn't an opportunity to get out and explore the old town. If we were to do it over, we would have just walked on our own, the ship docked close enough for a nice walk exploring on our own.
Thank you for your review. We have booked our first Viking Cruise for July 2023. Such a long way off. Due to all cabins having verandas , I did a first an booked the cheapest 3080.
Ours is a 28 night , London to Stockholm via Norway.
We are pretty easy going in regards to food , shows etc. despite quite a few negative reviews, we are sure we’ll love this cruise and our cabin.
