The intimacy of the small ship, just enough passengers and crew/staff, makes one feel you are on a private yacht, albeit a very BIG yacht. The staff and crew were friendly, performed their duties as if they loved their jobs, and maintained the ship as well as any 5 star hotel. The dining experience was outstanding. Chef Sammy prepared beautifully presented and mouth pleasing meals. The dining staff was exceptional. 

Excellent food, very pleasant and attentive staff.  Boat was very clean, staterooms were nice.  Nice amenities such as bottled mineral water in staterooms, bottled water to take on excursions, local maps for each destination,  cards with contact information for the boat at each port in case you get lost or need to take a taxi back to the boat.  They have the quietbox earphones for excursions so you can hear the guides well (I really liked that). Very nice and comfortable outdoor deck area, partially shaded. I was somewhat disappointed in the scenery (mostly flat farmland).The biggest drawback was the constant stairclimbing which was necessary to get down  to dining room, up to the lobby then down to the staterooms though  I have to admit there is a chair lift but I would be embarrased to use it.

The ship was old, rooms were poorly decorated.  The food was very good and the bartender was fabulous.  Most of the places we visited were at odd times where we couldn't shop or if we could, we were only there for 4 hours and couldn't shop and sightsee.   Others who had been on Viking cruises thought this ship was "a dump".  Super over-priced.
