This is our first Viking Ocean ! We've been on 2 Viking River prior. I Love Cryising and we had a good time! We met and spent time with Good people. The ship is beautiful & Staff were great. This trip had been canceled due to Covid so it was Wonderful to finally go! I enjoyed the ports and the people of the Countries we visited.
I love that Viking doesn't Charge for Every little thing like other cruise lines. Such as WiFi, drinks, specialty dining, & some excursions. Just improve on the music & on-board activities and ot would knock otnout of the park for me!
Of course I will cruise Viking again!

Very easy! Especially since the Ship didn't leave until the following day. We arrived around 330 pm & only 3 other passengers were checking in. Staff were great

We had good Meals! A couple Breakfasts in dining room were a miss ( eggs Benedict was poorly executed, cold bacon, & raw pancakes)
However, their were plenty of other options elsewhere. The lunches & dinners were Good! We really enjoyed Manfredi's Italian restaurant. The Chefs Table was good w/ wine pairing. You should make reservations before boarding. The last night of Cruise there were many cancelations since folk were trying to pack. So, if you missed the restaurants you can still try. The Staff were Great
Onboard Activities

Yes, I know this is the " Thinking Man's" cruise..It still would be nice to have more stimulating activities. Folk were drawn to the Cornhole game in the Atrium, Lol! Bingo , art & Crafts, Trivia, & game tournaments would have been great!
The Gym facilities was nice!
The masseuse were Great! Spa & Snow grotto was fun

The afternoon musicians during Afternoon Tea were nice.
I would've liked to hear more music played throughout the ship. (I guess I'm just used the Smooth Jazz & Dave Koz Cruises with Fabulous Music throughout the day and night.)
Viking needs to hire Better musicians or groups for the Evening & DJ.
We had gone on a night market tour in Jakarta which ended at a Rooftop restaurant/ bar..Now That Band had everyone On their Feet!! Hire Them!! Lol

The Viking Ocean rooms are larger than the river ( we've been on 2 of Viking River cruises) I loved the Bathroom size!

Loved our cabin! Upscale, Clean, Very nice Bathroom, plenty of storage, stocked fridge, nice size balcony, & good layout.
The best part was Our Wonderful Steward Nick(?) ! Helpful & Friendly

Have Fun! Bring Games! Meet new people! Know that the Staff really have your best interest at heart! Taking Covid Test daily really wasn't too bad ( just the waiting & praying you don't catch covid) Wear your mask in crowded areas & elevator.
We arrived 3 days before the cruise. We stayed at the Hilton. Highly recommend arriving to this wonderful city early! So much to see & do! We went thru Withlocals( App) & had a great tour guide for 2 days ( Chef Knoi) We did food tours, night market, Lantern Festival at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, river Market, Coconut farm, shopping! Fun! The weather was HOT! Stay hydrated
We did A bus city tour. Stops at a bank & puppet museum. Lunch later at a hotel. Another Hot day! Guide was Knowledgeable. Buses were air conditioned though not alot of legroom. LOTS OF TRAFFIC
Which is why the excursions start so early.

The portnin Jakarta is industrial area, so Not Pretty. But once you get out of the area ..Beautiful City. I enjoyed the Miniature City excursion! Very nice & Knowledgeable guide. It's like a theme park of different Shrines throught the country but in one place. Loved it! We did the night Food tour, the guides were a little disorganized in the beginning. And street food area wasn't as nice as Bangkok. However, we later went to a rooftop hotel/ bar for dinner, music & dancing! The city at night is Gorgeous!
We did the extension! This is a must! Either thru Viking or extend your stay on your own or you are being cheated on not enjoying Bali. The Luxury lagoon hotel WAS BEAUTIFUL AND FANTASTIC!! The almost 8 hr city tour prior to getting there from ship was exhausting. We did make stops to Shrines & other sites and we had a Nice lunch. But again the heat and legroom on bus made it trying. Bit once we got to hotel & was greeted with Cool towels, drinks & staff..I forgot all the above! Our rooms were Luxury & beautiful! We also booked tour on WithLocals App
. We toured the city, Food tour, Bali swing, coffee farm, shopping & are galleries. Transport to aurport was good only 25=30 minutes away.
