The lack of water in the Danube made for some work arounds to get us to different ports but the ship worked around the problem by busing us to ports of call or different excursions and found proper hotels.

Would highly recommend to anyone. Guides were amazing and trips we made were fantastic. Viking knows how to move people with ease.

Third VK river cruise.  Kadlin ship excellent, as have been our other VK ships. Storeroom middle deck with veranda. Comfortable. Bed, bathroom, walk in shower, excellent. Cruise Director Ken Dermer: superior. As are Chef Manuel, dining table attendant Norman, and housekeeper Beats. Ken is knowledgeable, and engaging in his presentations. Highlights: Claude Monet's gardens and house. VK guides are personable and highly informative. Highly recommend to take Versailles, Louvre, Normandy D-Day Beaches, and Paris day excursions. If you extend in Paris, highly recommend D'Orsey museum, Garnier Opera House, & Pompidou Center. Pompidou Center = hard to navigate. Go right to Gallery 5 modern art collection.  My travel agent Peter von Fridrich handled every precruise request very well.

Food and guides were fine and we were happy with that part of the cruise, but 100% of down time is in your room as there is ZERO to do on the boat.  Rooms are TINY.  Also we are 48 years old and we thought we were on the LAST SHIP. Avg age had to be 75.

We enjoyed seeing the sights of Europe with all the excursions included. It would have been nicer if the dock for Paris would have been closer to the center of the city.

the Kadlin is a new, wonderful longboat!  What was not to like?  The staff was outstanding, the rooms great and comfortable, the food varied and delicious, the tours and tour guides friendly and knowledgeable, the ship common areas well done, overall a, as above, a wonderful experience.

The crew did a marvelous job handling the flooding and rain we had to contend with. Even with high water conditions they got us to all our destinations in great shape. The tour to the Normandy beaches, especially the ceremony Lionel arranged for us was superb and unforgettable. 

Our cruise was 9/24/18 - 10/5/18. We would cruise on the Viking Kadlin again with this exact crew in a heartbeat. We did a combo 3 nights in Paris/Ryder Cup/one week cruise. Every inch of our bodies is thoroughly exhausted and our brains are equally as thoroughly enriched and fulfilled. Do not hesitate to book the Viking Kadlin. You cannot be disappointed!

This was my second Viking in one year and I believe for the money HIGHLY OVERRATED. Food was only fair and too many buffets for my liking. Menu very limited and wine nothing special. No change in the wine and they never spoke abouit. Overall just pretty disappointed. I’ve been on many cruises so I do have a lot to compare to. Just not worth the money, but this is my opinion.

Great cruise. First Viking cruise. Crew was first class. Ship was very good. Food/ wines were excellent. Tours were good. Normandy was emotional and worth the entire trip.
