Review summary

Our cruise was 9/24/18 - 10/5/18. We would cruise on the Viking Kadlin again with this exact crew in a heartbeat. We did a combo 3 nights in Paris/Ryder Cup/one week cruise. Every inch of our bodies is thoroughly exhausted and our brains are equally as thoroughly enriched and fulfilled. Do not hesitate to book the Viking Kadlin. You cannot be disappointed!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
From the moment we stepped on the ship everything was flawless. We honestly felt like a King and a Queen.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We do not believe Robert, the maitre ‘d, can ever be equalled or topped. He is attentive to details, big and small, and if you have a special request such as Gluten Free or a birthday, he is all over it. Robert made our Ryder Cup cruise as near perfect as humanly possible and a vacation we will never forget.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
No complaints about onboard activities! We were exhausted to the bone and craved a free moment just to rest our aching bodies. We were so busy with excursions that onboard activities were inconsequential to us.

Entertainment

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
This Viking crew spoiled us to the core.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Viking Kadlin is obviously newly renovated and very nice. We are luxury hotel aficionados so we say this with our bar set high. We would sail on this boat again with this exact crew in a heartbeat.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Of course it’s not a spacious hotel room; cruiseship rooms are what they are. Be clear on that fact before booking a cruise. The Viking Kadlin is the best that a cruise ship can be.

Ship tip

Our stateroom at the very end of the upper floor’s hall was incredibly quiet except when the boat cruised at night but that minor wrinkle was easily solved with high quality ear plugs. The rooms midway down the hall said they heard noises from other rooms but we honestly thought we were the only 2 on the boat. The hallway is very long tho to be honest.

Ports of call

LE PECQ (PARIS), FRANCE

5 out of 5
The town of St Germain-en-Laye is precious. Good shopping.

Vernon, France

5 out of 5
Giverny and Monet are everything. Quaint cute town as well.

Rouen, France

5 out of 5
Rouen might be the biggest town on the cruise with the most offerings.

Les Andelys, France

5 out of 5

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Just when we thought the Viking Kadlin could not get any better came to unbelievably organized disembarkation. OCD to the max but that is what is required to get almost 200 people successfully moved off.
