It was perfect from start to finish. We don't have a single negative thing to say. Viking exceeded our expectations.

Embarkation

This was our first Viking cruise and everything was as good as everyone told us it would be.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ended our trip at the New York Palace in Budapest. The food there paled by comparison with the food on the Hermod!

Onboard Activities

We loved Trivia night. The chef's descriptions of dinner and cooking lesson were great.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Our piano player was great. I would have liked it a bit better if it hadn't been so loud to make conversation for us old folks a bit easier. But he was very talented.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All were polite and helpful. Several had great senses of humor which we really appreciated.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Absolutely.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was small but what we expected. It was really helpful that there was a clothes line in the shower, 110 outlets and drawer and closet space. The toilet paper holder was the only drawback!

Ship tip

Relax and enjoy. Viking has it handled!

It was a packed day but we got in a walking tour in the morning, a trip to the Spanish Riding School in the afternoon and a concert in the evening. My husband brought along a sport coat for the concert but it wasn't needed (and it was stiffling hot in the concert hall.) We took the optional morning tour by walking to the train with our guide. We were glad we did this as we got the bus ride for both the afternoon and evening excursions. The guide was fantastic.

Fun walking tour. We wondered why it started and ended so early but found out when we cruised through the beautiful Wachau Valley.

Budapest, Hungary

The bus tour was worth the trip. In the afternoon we walked to the market from the ship and got to enjoy the atmosphere of the walk.

Disembarkation

Really well organized.
