Overall a very pleasant and educational cruise and excursions. The valleys along the river and interior were so perfectly structured and beautiful with vineyards, olive trees and other trees and cliff side homes.
My only critique would be that it would have been nicer to have a bit more free time in the areas we visited as sometimes we felt a bit rushed to get back to the bus "on time"...
The last excursion for which we paid $139 each, we spent around 2 plus hours on the bus (in traffic due to an accident and rush hour) and only got to enjoy the the outside of the historical buildings and because of the traffic and restroom delays we only spent about 2 hours in that part of historic Guimeraes... so that was unfortunately disappointing.
One highlight was the visit to an authentic "bakery" where we sampled wine, and pastries for about 30 minutes... then we had 20 minutes of free time... just not enough time!

Food and Dining

Food and presentation of the various plates were lovely. A super selection of choices.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Lectures and special Flamengo dance activity.
No fitness center on board. Too cold to go into the pool. Top deck was nice but after it had rained it was slippery as well as the stairs. There should have been someone to dry the stairs after it stopped raining for everyone's safety sake!
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Musician was good, nice voice. Flamenco dancers were quite good and entertaining.
I enjoyed the event where we had to guess the time period and the names of singers that were taped and played. We even got to dance!

Service and Staff

ALL ship personnel was outstanding and so friendly!! Kudos to Cristina, the bar tender and server, who worked constantly! Even during disembarcation she went above and beyond...
Ship Quality

Design... Only problem was tightness in the veranda stateroom... no chair, only small bench to sit on with little space between beds and the wall! The room was very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom

As stated the size of the stateroom was small. Cleaned daily and nightly when needed. Sius was very efficient and friendly. One problem however, was that twice at 6:30 am I had no hot water...
Ship tip
Be aware of tight situation in stateroom and bathroom. People who are overweight will have a problem manuvering in the bathroom, especially in the shower!
I did not pay much attention to all the piers as I was either preoccupied or there was little to do once off the ship after docking. What was interesting was the various locks we went through during the cruise.
Great! We had a late evening flight home and we able to stay in our stateroom until 9 am, enjoy breakfast and a lunch before our taxi picked us up at 3pm
