Review summary

We weren't sure what to expect but our cruise was better than we could have imagined. At first we felt guilty about being so spoiled, but we quickly got used to it and enjoyed every minute.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was amazing and we were pleasantly surprised that there were always simpler options available for those who weren't as adventurous.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We were surprised at the great entertainment - piano music every night and regional dancing and singing at various ports.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff were wonderful -- professional yet friendly. They looked after our every need.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was the perfect size -- not too big, but it had everything that you could possibly need or want. It was always spotlessly clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We expected our room to feel smaller, but it was very spacious and comfortable.

Ports of call

Budapest, Hungary

5 out of 5
What a beautiful city! There is so much to see and do that we took the extended trip and stayed for a few days on our own! Easy to walk everywhere or take public transit.
Don't Miss: Make sure that you are on the top deck as the ship is pulling into Budapest in the morning! It is breathtaking -- I'll never forget it!

Melk, Austria

5 out of 5
Don't Miss: The Benedictine Monastery -- magnificent!

Passau, Germany

5 out of 5
The 17,990 piped organ in Passau is worth seeing but we didn't stay for the whole concert. We sat at the back (as suggested by our cruise director if we wanted to slip out early) and left about half way through. Thanks for the tip, Marcela!

Vienna, Austria

5 out of 5
An optional "roughing it tour" instead of bus tour was offered at some ports. We did this in Vienna. It's a great way to see the city -- walking, subway, being immersed in the life of the city. We loved it!
Don't Miss: The concert at Kursalon Wien was wonderful -- a small orchestra, ballet, opera -- it was a beautiful sampling of the music of Vienna.

Regensburg, Germany

5 out of 5
A trip to Kelheim from Regensburg is a must-see. The Danube Gorge is beautiful.

Nuremberg, Germany

5 out of 5
The city of Nuremberg was quite beautiful. Our guide gave us a really insightful and informative tour of some significant Nazi sites.

Pros: An easy, relaxed way to see some amazing sites.

Cons: Can't think of anything that we didn't like.
