Review summary

We really enjoyed the cruise and the Utopia is a beautiful ship! The food and entertainment on the ship were incredible. The Aqua 80s show was absolutely amazing!!! However, my biggest complaint is that the sailings are too short to fully enjoy all that the ship has to offer. It feels rushed and a bit hectic to try to fit it all in and if you are like us and need your down time on a cruise, you will miss out on some activities.

Embarkation

Royal does it best!!! Embarkation is always a breeze! From the time we were dropped off by the shuttle to the time we were on the ship with a cocktail in hand took less than 15 minutes!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ate in the main dining room for dinner most of the time. Once in the buffet. Once in the solarium bistro and once at the Mason jar. Most of the food was fabulous. Main dining room is always great. Windjammer had amazing lobster tails on the first day! Mason jar was good, but I honestly thought for 49.99 it should have been better. My brisket was very fatty and the macaroni side dish was overcooked and dry.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There are plenty of things to do on this cruise!! You will never be bored!! In fact, there’s too much to do! It can feel overwhelming on such a short cruise.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The only entertainment that we managed to see was the aqua 80s show…. But man was that incredible!!! I’d you are only going to be able to see one show on your sailing, make it this one!!

Cabin / Stateroom

We had an ocean view balcony on deck 9. The location was great. Far enough away from the loud and busy top decks to still be enjoyable even when we could hear the music and party.

Ship tip

The ship only does 3 or 4 night sailings and usually sails full or close to full. As a result most activities and entertainment gets sold out. My advice would be to book your ship activities early and stick to them!! We were not able to book the Utopia station experience and that was very disappointing. Also, we missed the ice show on the first night and were not able to rebook it.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
The cruise port here has been improved by leaps and bounds since my last visit here! The terminal area is gated off, offers lots of shopping, food and drink and feels much more secure than it had in the past. We did the blue lagoon excursion. It was a beautiful ride over to the island and a relaxing day at the lagoon. The free food and drinks on the island were just ok. Not great. Also we are avid snorkelers but we were not impressed with the snorkeling here.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Our favorite stop on this cruise!!! Once again Royal just does it best!! Coco cay is beautiful!! We spent the day at hideaway beach, which is the adult only section. Even though there were 2 big ships in port, this section was not busy at all. The food was great! Get the hideaway chicken sandwich!!! So delicious!! The beach was beautiful and the sand was like powder!! It really was a perfect day!

Port Canaveral, Florida

Not my favorite port to cruise from. There is not much to do in the town and it is far from the Orlando airport.
