Overall we had an excellent time on our cruise. The only thing that we did not like. Is the fact that it was hot as hell in the elevators. Which I had to use because of my knee. The food was awful... I did end up enjoying the doghouse, El loco fresh and solarium bistro. The wind jammer is a joke. The beds are ridiculously hard, and it caused a lot of stiffness and soreness during the day because our backs hurt. The ship is beautiful and the drinks were great. We did have a good time. But we found that the staff was not as friendly as they are on Carnival. We really love the shows especially 1977 and comedian Landry.

Food and Dining

Yes we went to different locations to eat. Yes we ordered multiple appetizers entrées and desserts in the main dining room. But the food was bland and nasty. I recommend that you do specialty dining. I hate to say this but the food is better on carnival.
Onboard Activities

We enjoyed the pools, flow rider, abyss. But when we went to do the zip line they didn’t put that it was only available for key and diamond members. And no they did not list it on the app or the cruise compass. By far the laser tag was awesome.
Entertainment

Their shows are top notch. Especially 1977, people usually only talk about Hairspray and Hiro. But in my opinion the best show by far is 1977!
Service and Staff

Leroy our waiter in MDR and Chris assistant cruise director were awesome. Did not get to know our rooms steward. Found our conversations were awkward like he didn’t want to talk to anyone. But we were still nice to him. Honestly we found that most of the crew was not personable or knowledgeable about what was going on. So we only gave additional tips to Leroy.

This is about the only thing besides the shows that symphony of the seas has going for them. Reminds me of the phrase thank goodness you’re pretty. And please for the love of God get air conditioning in the elevators, and softer beds in the staterooms!
Cabin / Stateroom

I don’t care how pretty it looks. But if you can’t sleep on the bed it’s not worth it. Our backs are still hurting now that we’re off the ships. The beds are so hard! The little extra cushion that got put on did not help. One of my favorite things to do is nap on cruises. We definitely did not do that this time.
Ship tip
If you like hard beds you’re in luck. Order multiple dishes in the MDR in case you don’t like it. And take time to see the shows and comedian Landry.
Only giving it a three because our kids had birth certificate and government issued ID‘s . If they don’t have a passport they separate you. Then will not release the kids until you can come back over to vouch for them. It doesn’t make sense, they should keep the whole family together even if they do not have passports.
Oh the shows were awesome 1977 and hairspray were my favorites. The Hiro water show was good however they had too many things going on at once. I didn’t know where to look. Kinda gave me a headache.
I agree with you. I was also on that sailing. The food was mediocre much better food on carnival. The staff was not friendly and they seemed very pushy in giving them a 10/10 review for windjammer and dining room service.
