Review summary

Great ship but library is limited , no books except those from passengers. Excursion room too large and is mostly empty. It would have been a great place for the library and game room.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Good as usual

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Always difficult to find space in the buffet. Dining room aways at its best.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
N/A

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Excellent production shows. Great singers/dancers

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had an excellent room steward.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Like this layout and design of the older ships as compared to the newer one (Royal). Everything is well maintain - always see people cleaning, etc. Women's toilets seem always to get clogged up. Library doesn't receive my approval - too small, no books.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin Number E109 was assigned to us. Room always clean.

Ship tip

Study the map.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
Port is fine. If there is time, there is a park strip where one can stroll through. No excursion.

Hilo, Hawaii

5 out of 5
Good. No excursion.

Honolulu, Oahu

3 out of 5
Wish ship could dock at the clock tower. Makes walking to the shopping district a little shorter.

Nawiliwili, Kauai

3 out of 5
No excursion

Lahaina, Maui

5 out of 5
No excursion

Ensenada, Mexico

5 out of 5
Ensenada has come a long way in improving their board walk.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Good

To be fair, the library gets stripped by the cruisers. If people would stop taking the books home with them, then there would be books available for the next crop of cruisers. In October I was on the Coral Princess. They got a fresh shipment of books right before our cruise, so there was a great selection to choose from. Sadly the only sure thing is to bring your own reading material.

I always bring my kindle. I would never expect to find a book on a ship, definitely wouldn't complain about it .

Note to self; if I want to read a book on a ship I had better bring it with me rather than hope I find what I like in the library.
