Review summary

We have down 13 Princess Cruises and this was the most fun. We love the service is the dining room and really enjoyed then variety of entertainment.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We arrived at the Princess checkin counter at 3 PM and walked right up to the counter. The entire checkin process took about 5 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ate breakfast and lunch in the top deck (Horizon Court) and was pleased with the selection and quality of the food. We had the early fixed seating dining and was spoiled by our waiter Eduardo who with his Bus Boy gave our table 5-Star service

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The activities (Marriage Game, Yes/No Game, etc.) the cruise staff had planned were fun and gave a more personal feel to the ship. The dane floor was too small for the line dancing classes.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I went on this Princess Cruise mainly for the entertainment and was not disappointed. They had brought on the ship some top notch singers, dancers and comedians from around the world.

Children's Programs

No kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was first class and everyone we met went out of their way to make us feel welcome and provided for our every need.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The Star Princess was built in 2002 and has been well maintained over the years. We were told she goes into dry dock April 2020 for a facelift.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Standard Princess cabin. Very small but comfortable. Our cabin steward kept if very clean.

Ship tip

Carry a map of the ship with you the first couple of days.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

We live in Los Angeles

Hilo, Hawaii

4 out of 5
Did the Zip Line Tour which was fun, but not as long as I would have liked.

Honolulu, Oahu

3 out of 5
Did the submarine tour and could not see that much out the window as the water was murky.

Nawiliwili, Kauai

4 out of 5
Had a fun and talkie bus driver who gave us a good lesson in Hawaiin history going back to the days of Captain Cook.

Lahaina, Maui

5 out of 5
Did the bike ride down the volcano and lived to tell about it.

Ensenada, Mexico Did not visit port

Don't like all the beggars that constant approached us.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Got us off the boat within 15 minutes of our promised time.

I know they are adding medallion class March/April 2020. So if it is going dry dock, hopefully they update the cabins & plumbing issues. We are on her July 2 for 11 days to Alaska
