Review summary

We'd do it again! The sea days were great. We had 9 of them altogether. The ports of call were long enough to give us a great taste of the islands so we could plan future trips to better explore.

Embarkation

Fast. Lots of people to help you board.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Ate almost all meals at Portofino. Wonderful food. Sabatini's and Crown Grill were to die for! Best filet mignon I ever ate was at the Crown (so good, we went twice!)

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pools were nice. Unfortunately, the weather at sea was not as conducive to using them as we had hoped. Had lots of fun at the casino!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were great. Went to all of the stage shows and as many of the lounge shows as we could.

Children's Programs

No children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We have first dining where our table never changes. By the end of our cruise, the waiter knew us so well that he could order for us! Our room steward was fantastic. Bright, friendly, always ready to help and please us.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Loved roaming the ship. So many people to clean up after the slobs (yes, there were people on board who did not care where they threw their trash). What impressed me (and this si a weird thing t say) was that the public area restrooms were ALWAYS spotless.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a mini-suite. Nice large balcony, very comfortable beds, ice always provided. Steward made sure our linen was clean. Size was very nice.

Ship tip

There is a behind-the-scenes tour called the Ultimate Star Princess. For $150 you get a behind the scenes look at the ship - from the bridge to the laundry and al the stops in-between. I highly recommend it. It s limited to 14 people so sign up for it at the purser's desk as soon as you get onboard.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

Boarded here

Hilo, Hawaii

We had an excursion to Mauna Loa macadamia nut farm and then to Mauna Kea crater. After we got back, wee took a taxi to Rainbow falls, the Japanese gardens and to the black beach (we saw turtles sunning there!).

Honolulu, Oahu

5 out of 5
The Arizona is awe-inspiring. Ate at Roy's in Waikiki and sat on the beach at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Nawiliwili, Kauai

5 out of 5
Our original excursion was cancelled (river tour, luau) so we hoped on a tour to Waimea. Unbelievable!

Lahaina, Maui

5 out of 5
Haleakala was incredible!

Ensenada, Mexico

2 out of 5
This was a waste of time. The Bufadora was no where as impressive as the blow holes in Hawaii at Lahaina.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Since we were in a min-suite, we had a private disembarkation area. Coffee and pastries were served and the chairs we comfortable while we waited for out group to be called.

Yes, they had plenty planned on sea days - Bingo, progressive trivia, crew vs. passenger games, beer pong challenges and mini golf challenges in the Piazza, Hawaiian crafts and ukelele (sp?) lessons. And if you just want to relax and receive awesome service, reserve some time in the Sanctuary! Great views, comfortable lounge chairs, great service, healthy lunch options, access to the adults only pool, and afternoon tea! And if you like to gamble, the casino is open 24/7 on sea days with tournaments held several times. Enjoy!
