Review summary

I don't know about you, but often my wife and I wish we could just drop what we were doing and book a cruise to just get away and relax making time to be together without the interruptions of everyday life.  That is just what we did!  Booking our cruise at the last minute with Cheap Cruise was the best thing we could have done. They provided the best price, took care of all the details, and kept in touch with us right up until we boarded our ship.  Our agent, Steve was fantastik, so helpful in every way possible.

10 days was the perfect amount of time and we our sea days were wonderful.  Sailing out of San Francisco was fun, especially since we set sail right at Sunset.  by the time we cleared the harbor we got pictures of the sun setting as we went under the Golden Gate Bridge.  By the time we got clear of the Golden Gate and started our cruise heading South we enjoyed the beautiful lights of San Francisco at night.  What timing.!

We met so many unusual and fun people on our trip including  a personal advisor to the President of France.

We loved watching movies under the stars at night on the big screen.  It was cozy laying on the deck lounges converted with nice wool blankets and pillows.  sometimes it was hard to keep our attention on the movie because the Moon was full and the sky was so clear it looked like you cold reach out and touch it.  Romance, relaxation and rest was perfect! The ship "Princess Star" was extremely clean and the food was very good.  The shows were good, great live entertainment.  If you ever get the chance to just drop and book a cruise you might find that you will save a lot of money, plus the impulsiveness can be exciting just in and of itself.  It is like cutting school lol.  Life is all about memories and we sure made some good ones on this trip.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
This year is Princess 50th year celebration, so they incorporated their menu with some of the favorites through the last 5 decades among new items . Desserts, well what can I say, decadent and plentiful!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
you can do as much as you like or as little. We chose to do less by not trying to go to every activity. There was much to choose from so that was not a problem. Prices for the Spa were on the high side and if you enjoy going to a spa while on the cruise be ready for pay for it at rates we found to be higher than we could have at home.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Being on as many cruises as we have, some of the entertainment was similar to what we have seen on past cruises. You can count of a comedian or two , hypnotist, and song and dance.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Always helpful easy to communicate. 98% were always wearing a smile.

Ship Quality

very nice, clean and looked new.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
comfortable with plenty of room, we loved out balcony. It was large and we enjoyed the privacy of sitting out side reading or resting. No one can seen you which makes it great.

Ship tip

Tea time is a great experience and even if you are not a tea drinker, we suggest you try it. It is wonderful to take the time to set and talk with each other and with other passengers having tea. You might be surprised how much you can enjoy a cup of tea at tea time ;)

Ports of call

San Francisco, California Did not visit port

Great port especially because while you are waiting to set sail you have a wonderful view of the Bay Bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, Coit Tower and the Golden Gate Park.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

3 out of 5
We have been to Cabo many times and each time we find something new has been added.

Loreto, Mexico

We did not get off the ship, this port also was one in which you had to tender in. It did not look like a port we wanted to see and had little to offer.

La Paz, Mexico

Very little to offer and did not get off the ship. It looked like it was in the middle of no where.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Always nice, it is funny when you dock and get ready to get off the ship that Walmart i and Sams s in walking distance. Go out away from the town and enjoy the beauty beyond the hustle of the city.
