Review summary

Expect the unexpected. It is Culturally Enriching...but isn't this why we travel? Meet and mingle with the locals, they won't bite.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was quick and painless. Getting to the new terminal requires taxi or other modes of transport, metro currently does not reach the pier, and too far to walk. Navigating through the terminal was easy if you followed the signs, but seemed to be a maze.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We we're fortunate to have "gold" dining. The menus did not change through the cruise, but there was always a dinner special. Well presented, service was particularly good. Final day at sea we had a seafood lunch included. All varieties of chilled seafood, including lobster...all you wanted.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Took part in a few trivias, the hardest part was trying to understand the question because of the host's "Chinglish"....but you have to travel with a sense of adventure...learning and discovery...all cultures are different.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw the two main production shows and Silk Road in 270. Technically they are far advanced to any other Royal Caribbean shows. Very large and professional cast. Not the usual "song and dance"

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Spectrum is a new addition to the fleet, and looks brand new. Well designed interiors that flow together. There was some upselling of beverage and dining packages, but not to the extent of the other ships.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had 15540, a golden Junior Suite. Bathroom had both a shower and a tub. Toilet was in a separate room. Room was spacious with lots of closet and drawer space. Too many hangers...we had to remove them because they rattled at night when sailing. Great balcony, however, chair and lounge were extremely low to the ground.

Ship tip

Be open minded. Enjoy the difference of culture. Bring your upcoming cruise plans and book on board....they offer 20 percent off current prices and promotions, and an instant $200USD on board credit

Ports of call

Chan May (Hue), Vietnam

You may want to arrange a tour, the port is in the middle of nowhere...use Google to see a picture

Hong Kong

Nha Trang, Vietnam

Got a taxi for 6 outside the port for 5 hours, $15pp.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We we're one of the last ones to leave the ship since we had a very late flight. Taxi line was quite long, but they had a free shuttle to the Metro that could then get you anywhere you needed to go, even the airport.
