Review summary

We've cruised on several other ships, so we had something to compare to. The Sovereign is clean, and maintained well, but is showing it's age.

We did the straw market, then took a water taxi to Atlantis. The Straw Market is a hot, crowded place, but kind of fun to go through. Beware of vendors who offer to "give" you necklaces. Trust me, they aren't free. Atlantis: After reading reviews of people who paid to see the aquarium and those who got in free, we gave it a try...It was free for us! And a lot of fun. We just walked through rooms and rooms of some of the neatest underwater displays. Give it a try.
Don't Miss: Atlantis Aquarium. Very neat.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

The highlight of our trip. A beautiful little island, with clear blue-green water, and lots of nice amenities. You can walk down the beach, past all the hundreds of lounge-chairs to a quiet, pretty beach area. Snorkeling was fun, but wear water shoes, as rocks can be hard on your feet.
Don't Miss: Snorkeling

Pros: Open design of ship, cleanliness

Cons: Lots of little mechanical malfunctions

Recommends Sovereign of the Seas? No.
