Review summary
Overall, we had a good experience on the ship, however this was not our best cruise. The entertainment was ok, the dining room was so-so, and some of the public spaces (e.g. Schooner bar) were odd-shaped and served as more of a pass-through than a destination. We spent a good amount of time in the Viking Crown Lounge, which was a great destination bar with a panoramic view. We watched the ship dock at Nassau from that location, and it was a great view of the whole town. On the last night, they told us that the ship would no longer be in service at Royal Caribbean starting in Oct, and that the ship staff would be split up at that point. Since the date is so close, it made me wonder if that was part of the reason why some of the staff seemed a bit detached (either because they would be leaving or because they were new).Ports of call
Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)
Pros: Viking Crown Lounge, Coco Cay, Spatious Pool Deck
Cons: Dining room experience was uneven
Recommends Sovereign of the Seas? No.
