Review summary

I had sailed on the Sovereign of the Seas before she underwent a complete redo and except for the huge clock on deck four, the ship was totally new to me. It was great! It was easy to see they took great pains to make the ship beautiful. The crew was excellant and catered to our every need with a smile.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was good and of course plentiful. Our head waiter treated us like we were his only table. Whatever we requested he made sure we had.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We really enjoyed the shows every night. They were professionaly executed. We especially enjoyed the magician.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The crew always had a smile on their faces and were very willing to assist our needs.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Sovereign was very clean and easy to find your way around.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Although we had three in the rooom we never felt crowded. Our stateroom attendent was not intrusive or overly visable, but our room was allways clean and waiting for us whenever we returned from our daily fun.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
The girls and I did not book any excursions but chose to do Nassau on our own. We arrived in port around 11:30. The Straw Market was noisy, crowded and hot. You can skip this if you don't need any souveniers. We walked around downtown Nassau and had lunch and drinks at Senor Frogs. We watched the sunset from their patio and the went back to the ship for dinner. The ship was in port to 11:00pm, but we chose to stay on the ship and have drinks in the Viking Crown Lounge which has a wonderful 360" view of the ship and port. We enjoyed Salsa lessions and a show.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

5 out of 5
What a great relaxing day this was. We took the tender to the island around 12:00 and had no trouble finding a hammock and lounge chairs under a shady tree. We took advantage of the traveling bar tenders and the wonderful Bar-B-Que. It was so relaxing to have nothing to do but enjoy each others company , the refreshing cool water, eat, drink and laugh.
Don't Miss: The sun, the sea, the food, the ice cold drinks !

Pros: The private island, Cococay

Cons: The straw market in Nassau.
