We chose this cruise for the itinerary -- we wanted to see Cuba and nothing else. It was a nice relaxing cruise. We met some amazing people. We never buy the pictures or go to the casino so we did not miss them. I would have liked to see some more souvenirs in the gift shops suitable to buy for grandchildren. Cuba is behind the times in handicap accessibility but the people try to be helpful.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We were met with the requested wheelchair and went to head of the line. Even so, the other couple traveling with us got on almost as quickly as we did. It was the smoothesr, fastest embarcation I have ever had.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate breakfast and lunch at the buffet on deck 9. We had one dinner at Tuscan restaurant and the rest in the dining room. All meals were excellent. If we did not like something we were offered a different choice. Dining room was slow (excellent food takes time to prepare)-- a good place to relax, unwind, and have a pause between courses. Food was always hot.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We enjoyed the quiet of the library, the soft music of the string quartet and the piano. The pool looked inviting and was never crowded, but because of my handicap, I could not use it. We were always able to find seating around the pool.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We went to several shows which were modest but enjoyable. They packed a lot into an hour.
Children's Programs
No chiodren on tour
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was willing to assist me as I maneuvered with my walker. The waiters and stewards were always pleasant. The buffet accommodated us on early departures and late arrivals due to tours and we were never rushed or felt to feel we were inconveniencing them.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was small and easy to navigate. Every thing was clean. There was a pillow, an odd sock and a lot of dust under the bed. There is a serious lack of handicap restroom facilities.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Lots of room. Nice layout. The bed was too high. We had been told there were bars in the bathroom but they were only in the shower. I had to use the sink to get on and off the toilet.
Ship tip
Don't expect thNo glitz of the big ships. No photographer, no big casino, no drunk college students. Very enjoyable.
Wish we could have had more time there. Wish we had understood the need to convert money from Canadian to CUC; we were under the impression the people would accept Canadian money.. Enjoyed seeing the city and learning from the guide.
We went to Bay of Pigs one day and city tour the next day. Thought we were going to get more time for shopping. Very interesting and very informative guides.
