Excellent cruise on a top rate cruise line. Silversea has climbed to the top of our list for favorite cruise lines.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Quick and very efficient. Everyone in our group of 12 commented that it was the most efficient they had experienced on any cruise line.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
All the restaurants on Silversea are very good. La Terrazza is a favorite due to the pasta made fresh each day. La Dame is very special. Our only complaint was slow service in the main dining room at breakfast and some mixed up orders. These were just a few but with Silversea's high level of service we were surprised.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
No climbing walls, etc. on Silversea. Their ships are for people who appreciate more grown up activities. What they offer is always in good taste and entertaining.
Children's Programs
Activities are geared toward adults.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
I would rate it good - excellent. The butlers in every suite do a great job of pampering the guests. The staff goes out of their way to learn you name and greets you by name within a day or two. Special requests are almost always granted and when they cant be accommodated the staff does their best to find a solution.
Ship Quality

Beautiful public spaces with very special artwork. Beautifully maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom

The Silver Suite is spacious with a living/dining area and separated bedroom. The bath is spacious and well designed with a separated toilet room with extra sink. My only suggestion would be to have drawers in the double vanity. I like to have things put away and out of sight. The raised storage platform under the vanity is hard for some older people to reach. The closet and storage space are amazing!
Ship tip
Study the dress code!!! It is complicated and requires daily review of the bulletin to know if you need to wear casual, informal or formal attire. It needs to be simplified! We're on vacation and don't want to have to navigate so many rules. A dress code of either casual or informal with formal optional nights would be much easier to navigate. l
Pretty little village. The excursion to the bird cliffs was really off the beaten path and we weren't there when there were many birds. The area is beautiful.
Great visit to Frida's chocolate shop. What a gracious and amazing woman! And the chocolates and hot chocolate were as good as I had been led to believe from reviews. The visit to the brewery Segull 67 was a treat. The owner had great stories and the beer was quite good. Our guide for the excursion was excellent with a great sense of humor and excellent knowledge of the area.
Very small town but the rock shop and it's passionate owner who collected all the specimens in the shop was so interesting. The acapella concert in the storage tank was haunting and beautiful.
Our excursion to the "bird cliffs" was excellent. The view point was the best we found of all the others. While it was rainy and cool the chance to see the puffins was worth the dampness and chill. The tender too and from the ship was very rough. Not sure it was really safe for older passengers.
Plenty of space to wait for our disembarkation "color" to be called. We were very comfortable waiting in Dolce Vita. As with embarkation the process was organized and well run.
