Review summary

This was our second time on the Mariner. It has undergone a re-model in 2011 and is very nice. It has fewer than 1,000 passengers and you can even recognize a lot of your fellow travelers. Regent offers truly one cost for everything. We took 12 free shore excursions, paid nothing for wine, champagne and other drinks, tips are included. Our bill at the end of the cruise was truly ZERO.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
There are 4 possible restaurants each night: the primary dining room\, French\, Steakhouse and Italian. All were free and were great!. Even the main dining room had Filet Mignons several nights.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Because of the size of the ship\, there is only one show per night\, usually at 9:30. After a long day on excursions\, we didn't feel like the shows warranted the time.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
There were no children on this cruise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Sometimes when tips are included in cruise fare\, service suffers. Not on Regent -- staff were awesome.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship size is ideal for us. Smaller so the ports are not overwhelmed upon arrival. Big enough so you don't feel seasick.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Even the smallest suite is about 300 square feet including the balcony. All have balconies.

Pros: The ports were fantastic - 13 of 14 days in a port

Cons: Only one show per night and that was at 9:30.
