Nice cruise. Ocean was calm as can be. Didn’t feel a thing. Wonderful crew. Beautiful ship. Good food and people. Well done Royal.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Quick and easy. Parked fairly easily. Dropped off luggage. Security was quick. Was able to check in with no line because of having the Key program. Walked on the ship right after.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Breakfast was the best in MDR & buffet. The buffet was just ok for lunch and dinner. Some things were better than others. Would recommend going earlier because some of the food like the Burgers get stale. MDR was nice, pretty good food for dinner. Nothing amazing. Service was slow night one but got quicker as the cruise went on.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Shout out to Mama from Mississippi, Lucas. Both great hosts for trivia and other activities. There were never short of things to do at night. Whether it be late night comedy, love + marriage show, or the Crazy quest scavenger hunt, there was something for everyone. During the day even on sea days though there weren’t as many activities.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Comedy, tons of live music, game shows. Something for everyone to watch or listen to onboard.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
18-25 program as an 18 year old was great. Shout out to Lucas for coordinating everything. There were activities (dodgeball, movie night, beer pong) socials, meet-and-greets all cruise for young adults my age. Well done Royal, met many great friends.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All the crew onboard were nice, helpful, attentive, and outgoing. Enjoyed chatting and getting to know some of them. Pros of a more close-knit ship.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
For the Serenade being two decades old, the ship was spotless and had a good scent to it.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Nice and clean balcony Cabin. Good location right below the Solarium.
Ship tip
Meet new people and enjoy yourself, it’s a cruise after all
Decent. Priority disembarkation because of the key. But didn’t like how we arrived at a different terminal then where we left. So we had to take a shuttle to our car.
Glad you enjoyed your cruise and I sailed on the Serenade in 2019 and we really like the ship. If you look at the compass each day you will find the activities that are going around the ship even on sea days. See days usually have a lot you just have to see what's going on like I said.
