Came in on the tail of two storms; a hurricane and a tropical storm. Long rough trip over but had a great time in Bermuda and great weather coming back. The Royal Caribbean crew was great, but had a much better overall Bermuda experience sailing on Carnival.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Well-coordinated and efficient in Boston
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Included dinner restaurant was excellent. Breakfast/lunch cafeteria was also very good the extent that we did not feel the the need to visit any specialty restaurants.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Fitness centers were great, but outside activities were limited because of extreme weather conditions. Inside, guests were constantly subjected to a barrage of marketing.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The ship's own band and entertainers were very good. Comedians were good. Most of the hired-gun musicians were mediocre at best. The 1 exception was guitarist Axel Giudice.
Children's Programs
No kids with us, so didn't partake in kid programs
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The service was very good in all respects.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Design was beautiful, especially the restaurants. Ship was pretty clean. The only thing out of whack was the elevator system that seemed to have a mind of its own.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Our well-used 9th-floor deck cabin was small compared to those of some other cruise lines, but adequate. The bed was comfortable and the view was great.
Black Falcon terminal easy to get to by public transit and taxi. However, this review leaves out the fact that our Bermuda trip started by docking in Portland, ME that night and for the following day thereby cutting our time in Bermuda short because it was being hit by 2 major storms.
Love this port. It's historic, colorful, beautiful, international, and exceptionally friendly. Buy the inexpensive island transportation passes and travel from end-to-end on buses and ferries.
Disembarkation in Boston and Bermuda was easy. Portland was a bit of a pain because the ship had to tie up in the bay, so Royal Caribbean shuttle ferries carried everyone back and forth.
