Review summary

* When booking, it tells me paid in full... all included and they only need a credit card, in case I make a purchase on board. Last day, I got slapped with a bill, charging me with a service fee for every person in my party.. including for my 4 year old boy, even you promote "kids are free" $ 13.50 a day for a 4 year old = robbery. * Tables / chairs, filthy.. had to clean them myself, after they where "cleaned" the dirt was just swept of the table on to the chairs, very sticky table edges. * Dinner, would be ok... but we where seated with "Burka" wearing people, very unpleasant situation... a lot of people looking at us. After, I called the guest service, to change the table, restaurant or time... they simply said no, basically telling me, what I got is what I get, not even tried to help. We did not go back for dinner. Sad, we brought clothes to dress up to a pleasant dinner in style, instead we got to eat buffet with people in shorts and beach wear. * Take my boy on to the water slide, we where moving very slow, even I helped to move a bit faster... in the last curve, we got rear-ended by a very large woman coming fast down the slope, it slammed my boy in to the slope and then under the water, where he got water in his mouth and nose. Me, I had swollen fingers on my right hand for the entire cruise. When it happened, it was already a scene and I did not want to make it any bigger, I was concerned for my boy and tried to comfort him, after this... he was terrified to go near the pool. This are some of the reasons, why I give a big -0-

I don’t think cruising is for you, try another type of holiday, you seem to have been pleased by nothing, shame, holidays are what you make if them, sorry your little boy was hurt, and by the way clothes are clothes, try not to judge people by what they wear, did you try talking to them, cruising is all about meeting others no matter what they have on.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe he should try a rowboat next trip on the water!

Gratuities are listed online. That's not hidden from consumers so if you didn't prepay them upfront, then they add them daily. And yes, even to a four year old because they too are using the services. As far as the 'Burka' wearing people, exactly who are you referring too? What did they do to you other than discomfort you by their clothing??? People were probably looking at you because of your reaction to them based solely on the way they were dressed.

FYI....You can go to Guest Services and tell them to Remove the Gratuity, they may try to fight you ,but stand your Ground...we do it

You need to take some of the ownership for your " bad time". If you had done any research on cruising you would know that gratuities are NOT included unless you pay for them up front. It states that in the cruise contracts if you bothered to read it. I can't believe Guest Services did not refer you to talk to the maitre'd. You should have been able to change that after your discomfort with your first dining room experience. There has to be more to this story.

So in other words , a bitch session because you didn't take the steps to correct things that were within your control... on a side note , you don't exactly sound like a person I'd want to break bread with either ....

Stay off RCL, we don't need you. Try Disney next time

Racist comment, very intolerant, if you wanted to change tables because you were seated with "Burma wearing" people. You got charged for your mandatory tips and children pay that regardless. You could have gone to customer service and had them removed, though that is unfair. If you were injured you should have gone to a supervisor immediately.

I have never had a problem changing dining times or tables for any reason on any line. But you need to work that out with the dining room maitre d.

cshorlock    7 years ago

You’ve got bad Khama and that gets you no help at all

ThatFatMan    7 years ago

Agreed, the burka comment is intolerant and in poor taste. Completely undermines your position. Do us all a favor and stay off any future cruises.

I was reading until "burka wearing people". Funny how Karma works...

13.50 per day is the gratuities. Everyone gets charged. Even though your boy is only 4, he uses all the facilities of the ship. His bed gets made, towels changed, venues used. To change your table you should have spoken to the reservation desk at the front of the dining room. Sorry your little boy was hurt.
