This cruise was an excellent "value for money" performer. The small and intimate size of the ship provides for an outstanding personal experience. The ships layout and design are exceptional and food quality incredible.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Port of Lisbon is undersized and process of boarding is slow. Once on Seabourn Odyssey, embarkation very efficient.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The culinary experience was exemplary. The executive chef is very talented and delivered an amazing array of tastes, flavors and variety each and every day. Canapes at the lounges a nice touch. Wines and spirits included in the cruise fare added to the relaxed and special VIP treatment received onboard.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The pool area was spacious and accommodating of all guests. The 5th floor walking deck was large enough to do our 3 mile walk. There were many activities including bridge, art classes, putting and photography. The crew offered several special activities - caviar in the pool, games day etc. The seminars were mediocre and narrowly focused. There were no natural environment seminars and nothing related to the Atlantic Ocean history.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Great variety in the lounges and nightly shows.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Lounges understaffed around 6pm - 6:30. Dining room service slow. Nicest dinners were on the Colonnade deck where we enjoyed eating outside and the service excellent and appropriately staffed. Thomas Keller restaurant excellent in all service aspects. Staff professional and friendly. Very few knew our names unlike past voyages. Room steward provided good service but usually later morning or after lunch. This should be improved.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship was very well maintained and sparkling clean.
All common areas were well furnished and well designed.
(The shop terrible with no inventory. No small sizes, limited selection. Staff frustrated with nothing to sell but left over clothing. Time to fire your inventory manager.)
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Excellent cabin and very spacious compared to other luxury carriers. The cabin size, layout and appointment is an exceptional feature on Seabourn.
