We had a great time on Princess and will definitely be back. The sea Princess was a small and intimate ship so we were able to have a great time with a lot of the same people but it was also big enough that we were still meeting new people on the last night.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We embarked at 12:30 which seemed like a busy time so lines were long but everything seemed to move efficiently.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We prepared for not great food and set or expectations low but were pleasantly surprised.
La Patisserie
4 out of 5
Good speciality coffees. I really enjoyed the white chocolate flavoured coffee. This was a very popular spot so it was difficult to get a seat.
Horizon Court
3 out of 5
Buffet food was not great but the service was excellent.
Neapolitan Dining Room
5 out of 5
We had the early seating in the Rigoletto dining room. The for was great and or server Rey was the best we could ask for and always had great recommendations.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The pools were only crowded a few times at the beginning.
The fitness centre is always crowded when it opens at 7am but thins out pretty quickly by 9am so I recommend having breakfast first.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The entertainment was great. Always a different activity going on depending on your taste.
We enjoyed any sessions run by Chris or Jayson. Trivia was always an absolute blast.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
There was only 25 children in our child's age range so the group felt very close by the end. Our shy child started the week very apprehensive and only wanting to play on the computer but the staff expertly included her in activities and helped her meet all of the other children. By day 3, she was being to go to all of the sessions.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward Michael was fantastic. He showed us some easy ways to hang up or clothes that didn't look messy and helped them dry quicker.
Our server Rey in the main dining room always made our dining experience smooth.
The rest of the ship exceeded our expectations. It's incredible feeling to be able to have a seat anywhere and have drinks brought to you. We never felt like we were inconveniencing anyone and it added a layer of luxury to the cruise.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It's definitely an older ship but everything looks clean. Every now and then, there was a faint poo smell but that was our only complaint.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cozy cabin. It felt just big enough for 3 people and our stuff. We utilised magnetic hooks to keep our toiletry bags and notices up and easily accessible. The room was kept clean and refreshed morning and evening.
Ship tip
Show up to the entertainment. Part of the fun was seeing the same people and entertainment staff at each event.
We did the outer Reef adventure. It's a long day but very worth it. The excursion was booked through the ship through Cruise Whitsundays. We were incredibly well looked after and lunch on the boat was well above our expectations.
We had a great day at Green Island. The tour got back about 15 minutes after all aboard but because we booked through the ship, we didn't have a problem.
